Prime Time: Testing the New Prime Series Tray and Canopy in Bunyip State Forest
Giving the Prime Series Tray and Canopy on our Ford Ranger Super Duty an opportunity to test it's legs in Victorias Bunyip State Forest.
There is only one real way to find out if a tray and canopy setup is built tough, and that is to get it out of the showroom and into the bush.

That is exactly what we did with our new Prime Series Tray and Canopy, loading it onto the new Ford Ranger Super Duty and heading for Bunyip State Forest. From the first stretch of rough track, the Prime Series felt right at home. This is the range we built for hard use, with heavily reinforced construction, the latest tray and canopy features, and a design that does not back down when the terrain gets rough.

The idea behind Prime was simple. Build a setup that can handle real Australian conditions without compromise. Not something that looks the part in the car park, but something that proves itself when the mud gets deep, the gear gets heavy, and the tracks start testing every part of the vehicle.

Bunyip gave us exactly that.

With a mix of tight trails, uneven surfaces, washouts, and plenty of loose terrain, it was the perfect place to put the Prime Series through a proper shakedown. The new Ranger Super Duty gave us a solid platform to work with, but what stood out most was how planted and dependable the tray and canopy felt once the trip got serious. No fuss, no drama, just a setup that got on with the job.

That is what Prime is all about.

It is the heavy-duty end of our range, built for tradies, tourers, and owners who want the confidence to load up and head out without second guessing their gear. Every part of the setup is designed with strength, practicality, and long-term durability in mind. From the reinforced build to the full feature set, Prime is made for people who actually use their vehicles.

And while this trip was about testing it in the bush, the real appeal of Prime is how well it carries over into everyday life. It is just as suited to the worksite as it is to a weekend away. One setup, no compromises.

Our Victorian operation includes a manufacturing and installation centre in Dandenong South, which supports MW’s local production and fit-out capability. That local backing is a big part of what gives us confidence in the Prime Series, because it is built with Australian customers, conditions, and expectations front of mind.

The trip through Bunyip State Forest confirmed what we already believed. Prime is not just another tray and canopy package. It is a serious setup for people who need serious gear.

Built tough. Tested properly. Ready for whatever comes next.
