Terrific Tourer - Saturday
The Terrific Tourer gets around, both on the road and the road less travelled. With a focus on towing capacity, rapid deployment at destination and long haul reliability, our Terrific Tourers are fuel-efficient, strong and show off the personal touches that make your 4x4 unique.
Entries are divided into 2 subcategories:
- Pre-2004
- Post-2004
Expected upgrades include but are not limited to:
- Lifted/Re-engineered suspension
- Long range fuel tanks
- 12V setup
- Off-grid capabilities
- Informatics
- Rooftop tents
- Rear cabins
- Storage compartment
The winners of the Terrific Tourer category in both the Pre-2004 and Post-2004 subcategories will take home a $2,000 prize courtesy of Opposite Lock and a Salt Shift kit, while runners up will take home a $250 cash prize and Salt Shift kit.
Rough & Tumble - Sunday
With a focus on functionality and off-road capabilities, it might not be pretty, but when things get serious it can be relied on to get you home. Our Rough & Tumble vehicles are sturdy, capable and full of unique solutions to the toughest off-road problems.
Entries are divided into 2 subcategories:
- Pre-2004
- Post-2004
Expected upgrades include but are not limited to:
- Body armour
- Roll cages
- Big flex
- Lockers
- Reduction gears
- Off-road tyres
- Winches
- Light bars (off-road)
The winners of the Rough & Tumble category in both the Pre-2004 and Post-2004 subcategories will take home a $2,000 prize courtesy of TWD and a Salt Shift kit, while runners up will take home a $250 cash prize and Salt Shift kit.

Entry Rules
- All vehicles entered into the Show N Shine must be road registered and meet the current VSB 14 standards For more information Click Here
- Vehicles which have been selected for the Show N Shine must be on display for the entire event day on which your category is run.
- Sponsored vehicles are not eligible to enter
- If your vehicle is used to promote a business it is not eligible to enter
- If you have participated in a previous National 4x4 Outdoors Show N Shine competition you may not be selected again
How it works
Please note: this is a major feature at the show, so rigs are on display for the entire day. You will need to enter between 7.00am – 7.30am and stay until 5.00pm. No exit will be allowed before 5.00pm (4.00pm Sunday).
- Select the category you want to enter and complete the online entry form
- Entries will be judged down to a short list that will be invited to display at the show.
- Judges will be experts from the 4x4 industry including our partners
- You need to be able to attend the show either Saturday 24 August for Terrific Tourers or Sunday 25 August for Rough & Tumble.
- Judging will take place throughout the day, with the winners presentations on the main stage.
