Simpson Desert (East to West) is a 9 day tour, starting in Birdsville and finishing in Alice Springs. This tour is suitable for trailers, and if there are trailers on the tour we will select the route best for towing. After the crossing, we wash off the dust at Dalhousie Springs, then visit Mt Dare, camp at a special waterhole and Chambers Pillar, and see some Old Ghan relics as we make our way up to Alice Springs.
Regardless of whether you are towing, we share tips and techniques so you can cross the desert with minimal strain on your vehicle, and to minimise environmental and track damage.
