Melbourne Showgrounds is Melbourne's largest and most versatile venue, offering unique and flexible indoor and outdoor spaces designed to host a variety of events and activities including trade shows, exhibitions, expos, festivals and much, much more.
How do I get to the Show? (Public transport, access, parking and FREE shuttle bus)
The Showgrounds are conveniently located just north of the Melbourne CBD in the inner suburb of Ascot Vale and offer ample parking with public transport close by. More information on getting to The Melbourne Showgrounds can be found here and here.
The Melbourne Showgrounds is easily accessible by tram, bus, train, or taxi.
FREE SHUTTLE BUS
The FREE shuttle bus will be looping approximately every 15-20 minutes from the Flemington Racecourse Parking Area. The bus will stop near 15 Flemington Road, Flemington. Keep an eye out for the big red SkyBus. The FREE shuttle bus will take passengers to the entrance of the show - near Town Square Pavilion.
TRAM
Tram Route 57 tram (West Maribyrnong to Elizabeth Street, City)
- Stops at stop 32 (Showgrounds Village Shopping Centre on Epsom Road)
BUS
Bus routes that travel past the Melbourne Showgrounds are:
- Bus No. 472 (Williamstown to Moonee Ponds) stops along Langs Road.
- Bus No. 404 (Footscray to Moonee Ponds) stops on the corner of Epsom and Ascot Vale Roads.

TRAIN
No additional services will operate. All services will run to a normal weekend timetable.
Getting to the Melbourne ShowgroundsCustomers arriving at North Melbourne and Southern Cross stations are advised to change trains and catch a Melbourne Showgrounds service.
- Arriving at Southern Cross Station, change to Platform 14 and catch a Melbourne Showgrounds service
- Arriving at North Melbourne Station, change to Platform 6 and catch a Melbourne Showgrounds service

Leaving the Melbourne Showgrounds
Customers are advised to get any train from the Melbourne Showgrounds and travel to North Melbourne or Southern Cross Stations and change to a regional train.

NB: The Department of Transport will be arranging for additional train services running from Southern Cross Station to the Melbourne Showgrounds, 30 minutes before the event start time until 30 minutes after the event conclusion on Saturday & Sunday with a frequency of 15-20 minutes.
An additional four Tram services will be scheduled to run along Tram Route 57 on all 3 event days (Friday to Sunday). Route 57’s current frequency is every 8-12 minutes and these additional services will allow Yarra Trams to run a 7-10 minute frequency during the peak periods of the event.
PARKING
All visitor parking is at Flemington Racecourse.
Pay on entry. Please try and avoid peak times, as congestion may occur.
There is a free shuttle to get to the showgrounds at the Flemington Racecourse. The bus will stop near 15 Flemington Road, Flemington or it’s a 10-15 minute walk.
Access is down Flemington Drive, off Epsom Road. Look out for the signs.
Flemington racecourse parking is $25 per day.
Please note there is NO GENERAL VISITOR PARKING at the Melbourne Showgrounds.
ACCESSIBLE PARKING
Accessible parking at Melbourne Showgrounds can be accessed through Gate 5 on Langs Road
Please note – no general visitor parking will be admitted. This is only for people with accessibility needs.
Parking at Melbourne Showgrounds is $20/day.

Is there somewhere I can store heavy, bulky items that I've purchased at the show?
Yes! We will be operating a free Parcel Pick-Up service.
What is Parcel Pick Up (PPU)?
Parcel Pick Up (PPU) is a dedicated place to store your heavy, bulky items that you've purchased and continue enjoying your day at the show. Storing your goods at Parcel Pick Up is free! You’ll have the option to pick up your goods on the way out or drive around to our collection point and pop your items straight in the car.

Parcel Pick Up is located near via Gate 4 off Langs Road.
