The Gear Up & Go Stage, supported and hosted by Girls Day Out 4WD Edition, is an interactive educational stage focused on real-world skills, practical knowledge, and informed decision-making for outdoor and automotive enthusiasts.

This stage brings trusted brands and industry experts together to deliver hands-on education around products, vehicle setup, recovery, communications, touring gear, and essential skills — not sales pitches. Each session is designed to break down what you actually need, how to use it properly, and why it matters in real driving and touring scenarios.

The Gear Up & Go Stage bridges the gap between products and people, empowering attendees with confidence, understanding, and practical takeaways they can apply immediately — whether they’re new to 4WDing or refining their setup for bigger adventures.

Meet the Woman Driving Change in 4WD'ing

Cassie Carson is the powerhouse behind Girls Day Out 4WD Edition, a fast‑growing national movement dedicated to empowering women in the outdoors and behind the wheel. A passionate and experienced four‑wheel‑driver, Cassie created Girls Day Out after recognising the need for a safe, inclusive and judgment‑free space where women could learn, ask questions, build confidence, and explore the world of 4WDing without barriers.

Through her workshops, Cassie champions education, community and empowerment, offering hands‑on training in vehicle maintenance, recovery techniques, driving skills, equipment essentials, and real‑world adventure readiness. Her sessions prioritise practical learning, safety, and building confidence - helping women understand their vehicles, trust their skills, and take on outdoor adventures with newfound independence.

Cassie’s been a regular at the National 4x4 Outdoors Show for years now, jumping in on everything from sessions about Terrain Tactics and featuring on a panel on the Outback stage - Women Who Inspire Adventure.
