Get your wish lists ready! Australia’s premier outdoor adventure and recreational show, the National 4x4 Outdoors Show, Fishing & Boating Expo is just days away and will be held once again at the Brisbane Showgrounds, from 5 – 7 April, 2019.
Just in time for the Easter break, this year’s Show will feature thousands of fishing, boating, 4x4, camping, towing and outdoors products from the industry’s leading retailers including a host of amazing deals and bargains for show-goers.
“For almost 30 years the National 4x4 Outdoors Show, Fishing & Boating Expo has been Queensland’s biggest and most comprehensive outdoor lifestyle show,” Event Director, Paul Mathers said of the show.
“Our event was attended by nearly 30,000 like-minded enthusiasts and families last year, and with some exciting new faces and features, we expect even bigger crowds for our 2019 Show.
“Fun is definitely the essence of this event; and it’s always so gratifying to see so much enthusiastic participation in all the different aspects of the show.”
An annual highlight has always been the long rollcall of special guests and visiting industry experts ready to share their expertise, experiences and entertaining stories with show visitors.
In 2019, a host of new special guests will join Australia’s premier line-up of 4x4 experts, fisherman and outdoor cooking specialists, including eccentric Australian wildlife adventurer and You Tube sensation Andrew Ucles.
Ucles will join show regulars including Mr 4x4 Pat Callinan, TV presenter and off-road guru, Jase Andrews from All 4 Adventure and his presenting partner Simon Anderson, a battle-hardened adventurer on land and water.
A hit at the 2018 show, Alicia Blythe returns to share her off-road experiences and practical advice, sharing the stage with Jamie Hazelden who returns as a key member of the Offroad Adventure Show team.
Shaun Whale and Graham Cahill will be back too, retelling their sometimes colourful exploits and taking show visitors behind the scenes of the production of their hugely successful 4WD Action DVDs. Another newcomer to the Waeco CFX Outback stage this year will be Barney Lewis from Legendex.
Over on the Catch & Cook Stage, the line-up of ever-popular show regulars has also been bolstered by newcomers.
‘Spida’ Everitt will be back with his ‘Stove on the Road’ show where, and together with wife Sheree, they will demonstrate a plateful of quick, easy and tasty recipes that are easy to whip up on the road.
Paul Burt also returns to entertain with his fishing and boating exploits, and he will be joined on the Catch & Cook Stage line-up this year by journalist, TV identity and public speaker David Hodge, the Barefoot Fisherman.
Bush Cook and educator Ranger Nick, often referred to as the ‘guru’ of camp oven cooking, will showcase his bush cooking skills and have a few laughs along the way.
Finally, Creek to Coast presenter Scott Hillier will share a lifetime of fishing experience and stories from his adventures on the road with the popular TV program.
“Our show might be the best in Queensland annually but we want to keep it fresh, which is why I am delighted to announce additional special guests for this year,” Event Director, Paul Mathers said.
“In addition we have worked hard to make the show more accessible and more comfortable for visitors than ever before, with new comforts including air-conditioning throughout the buildings, an additional entry point off the oval, more parking than ever before, and free train all the way to Showground Station.”
The event’s two stages will be kept busy throughout the three days, as will the Action Arena with the much anticipated return of Australia’s most popular stuntman, Matt Mingay and his Hot Wheels Stunt Team. Joining the team for his debut will be Matt’s 12 year old son Maddox, who will take on his Dad in a best of three races shootout, signalling the beginning of a new rivalry!!
For those wishing to get behind the wheel themselves, the Motorama 4x4xMORE Proving Ground will enable visitors to test drive and compare a range of popular SUVs and Utes from Toyota, Ford, Holden, Mitsubishi and Nissan over a specially constructed simulated 4x4 course.
In addition to the vehicles onsite from Motorama retail, show visitors in the market for a new 4x4 will certainly have plenty to choose from, with Land Rover, Volkswagen and Isuzu displaying their diverse range of models and Suzuki introducing its long-awaited new Jimny.
“This year’s Show will provide hours of entertainment for the whole family. Whether it’s taking in all of the excitement on the Action Arena, learning some new fishing tips from our experts on stage, listening to fascinating outback tales from our special guests, meeting a favourite 4WDing personality, checking out the reptile kingdom or casting line in the giant Berkley Supertank, there really is something for everyone at the National 4x4 Outdoors Show, Fishing & Boating Expo.”
All visitors to the Show will go into a draw to win a Dometic prize pack of their own valued at $2548 consisting of a Dometic CFX-50W portable fridge/freezer and a Dometic PSB40 portable lithium battery, simply by scanning their ticket onsite.
